The Kaiserstuhl-Tuniberg is located directly on the Rhine river and on the border to France, where you will find a lot of interesting destinations for day trips: historic cities like Colmar and Strasbourg, wine villages along the Alsatian wine route as well as numerous museums and leisure facilities.
The German-French touristic route 'Green Route-Route Verte' goes through Breisach and connects the regions Black Forest, Upper Rhin, Alsace and the Voges.

The metropolis of the Black Forest, Freiburg, is located about 20 to 30 km away and is comfortably reachable with the Breisgau-S-Bahn.

From Freiburg one can reach - by car or by rail- within 1 to 1,5 hours the Black Forest with its well known towns such as Titisee, Hinterzarten, Feldberg and Schluchsee.

The Swiss border is about 60 km away. The border city of Basel has an interesting historic inner city located around the Munster. There are also lots of unique museums and art collections as for example the Museum Tinguely and the Foundation Beyeler. Not far away from Basel you can visit the Roman town Augusta Raurica, which is the biggest open air facility in Switzerland and was once home to over 20.000 people.
